The usual route
Most sat-navs send you onto the D400 coastal road eastbound. You pass Aksu, Serik, Belek turn-offs, then Side / Manavgat before continuing to Alanya. The scenery becomes hillier after Manavgat.
There is limited motorway (O-30 / ring) usefulness for this eastbound trip — stay focused on following Alanya / Gazipaşa signs once past Antalya city sprawl.
Traffic and timing
Friday and Saturday afternoons in July–August can add 20–40 minutes. Early morning and late evening are calmer. Coaches and agricultural vehicles appear frequently — overtake only where marked lanes allow.
On arrival in Alanya
If your hotel is in Mahmutlar or Kargıcak, stay on the coastal road past the castle peninsula. For Cleopatra Beach hotels, follow Keykubat Bulvarı signs and watch for sudden pedestrian crossings.
